Preparing For The Doctor In Prayer

Have you ever had an event where that you had been looking forward to and dreading all at the same time?
Well for someone with chronic illness that can be anything really but for me it was my last neurologist appointment. I’ve been battling a really bad flare for several weeks and have been in debilitating pain causing my doctor to have to work me into their already full schedule, but the appointment was still a two week wait away! Two weeks is a long time to wait for someone that’s in pain!!!
My neurologist sometimes isn’t the best listener and just is all doctor/ scientist about my condition; so I really felt that God gave this wait time for a reason. If I’m being honest I used it for a while to lament in my pain that I couldn’t get any help with my pain, but then I saw the seriousness of the waiting time I was in and began praying over my upcoming appointment.
Points that’s I prayed for:
  • I prayed for my doctors to listen
  • New medicines to be tried
  • For the doctor that I like and get along with the best in the practice to be available to see me(is that bad?)
Let me tell you what happened!!
I showed up, when I went back to the room the doctor that I had prayed for saw me she said “Oh, hi I saw you were coming in today and moved you to my patients! I’ll see you soon!” I ended up working mostly with her nurse practitioner that’s new to the practice, but who knows who I am because her family goes to the same church as me! Wow! She was such as advocate for me and both doctors ended up helping adjusting new medications for me to try. So for that appointment God answered that prayer in a mighty way and I walked out of that office in awe of Him!

If you’re wondering about my health after that appointment, I’m still in the midst of the same flare and not pain free yet. I really thought and was telling people that it was 6 weeks of a migraine that I've been fighting, but I checked my app that I track my migraines on and it's actually been 8 weeks. There is still some medication adjustments going on. I do have some doctors appointments coming up this week, which has meant a weekend full of research and making sure that I have everything together that my doctors have asked me to bring.
