Where Are You From?

Where are you from?  This is a question I get a lot any more.  For those of you that might not know, I grew up in Northeast Tennessee.  (Yes, I am a proud Vols fan, GO VOLS.)  Growing up in Tennessee means I also grew up with what most people would call a Tennessee accent.  And y'all, mine was thick when I was younger, like to the point that people in my hometown made fun of the way I talked.  Lately, my accent has flattened out a lot but it still shows up from time to time.

There have been moments since moving to Central Florida that someone just asks, "where are you from cause you sound different?" My favorite moments though are the times when someone with a similar accent stops me and asks if I'm from East Tennessee and we share some comradery about growing up in the same part of the world.

The Lord woke me up tonight and gave me the word accent.  So is sat on it for a minute and couldn't think about why that would happen, and all my mind kept going back to was Tennessee.  Then, it clicked. We all have an accent because other see something in us.

If our forever home is truly in Heaven, then do we have an heavenly directing people to Heaven?
Are we living our lives in a way that others can see our heavenly accents in us?
Am I living in a way that someone might stop me and ask if I'm a Christian, so that they can ask questions?
Am I living in a way that causes other Christians to not feel so alone where they are?
Does the Holy Spirit spill over in me so that it shows more than just by what I say?
Do I show Jesus to the people around me everyday, whether they're acquaintances or strangers?

We all have an accent on our lives.  Does your's point people to Jesus?
