I have oficially been in Arkansas for one week now. This week has been full of adjustments that I have had to make. It gets about 100 degree heat index everyday here, ugh! The town that I am staying in has a population of 700 and something. My allergies could easily get the best of me on somedays.
With all that being said, this place is beautiful! And I get the oppurtunity to be outside everyday!
There are different types of trees and wildlife here for sure that I still have lots to learn about.
I am outside of my Tennessee comfort zone and am loving the fact that I have the oppututunity to come out here and see a side of the animal world that I couldn't see any other way.
These next few pictures were taken from the cliffs on the property. One of the staff members was nice enough to take me to these for me to see.
One of the tasks that I get to help with everyday is gathering browse. Browse is tree limbs and bamboo or cane for the elephants to eat when they come into the barn to eat every evening.
The elephants here have a large enclosure full of trees for them to eat off of whenever they are out there.
It is a different world here without my mountains. I have never seen a storm roll across the coutry the way that I did the other day. It was somewhat eerie and so cool all at the same time! I just couldn't help but to take a picture to share!
There are many more animals here other than the elephants. This sancutary doesn't turn away any animal. There are horses, donkey, dogs, cats, chickens, geese, and guineas!!!
